Sound of Soul Events

A “Sound of Soul Event” is an opportunity to experience HU, a love song to God in a friendly group setting. We chant the sacred name of HU for 20 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of silent contemplation. This is followed by a discussion about Spiritual experiences by those who wish to share.

The Sound of Soul Event is sponsored by Eckankar and is offered as a free community service for people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.

The video and text below share the many benefits of singing HU.

More Benefits of Singing HU

Singing HU opens the heart to Gods love, and with love comes the spiritual potential within you, bringing greater happiness, inner guidance, and understanding to make your life better. You can learn more about HU, and hear thousands of people singing HU HERE.

HU is woven into the language of life. It is the Sound of all sounds. It is the wind in the leaves, falling rain, thunder of jets, singing of birds, the awful rumble of a tornado. . . . Its sound is heard in laughter, weeping, the din of city traffic, ocean waves, and the quiet rippling of a mountain stream. And yet, the word HU is not God. It is a word people anywhere can use to address the Originator of Life. — Harold Klemp

Adjustments to the Discipline that the Master suggests.

“Adjustments to the discipline that the Mahanta suggests is the better way for the chela. It must be taken seriously and rigidly followed. This is what is known as the narrow way. One does not fit himself into this narrow way, but he adjusts himself accordingly. He does the best he can without upsetting or disturbing his own way of life. Until he does this, time is wasted in trying to find himself and what the Mahanta is willing to do for him to assist him spiritually in this world.”

“Yet it is love, and this quality alone which will gain him greater favor with God, and the Living ECK Master. Love and the desire to serve make for a greater spiritual unfoldment on the path to the Sugmad.”
